Barahonda Lualma 2019
The name Lualma comes from the first syllable of Lucía, Alfredo and Martina, members of the fifth generation of the family that runs Bodegas Barahonda. The wine is also a play on three varietals: Monastrell, embodying strength; Tintorera, personifying gentleness; and Syrah as a symbol of sweetness.
Tasting notes
Lualma is the first wine of the fifth generation of Barahonda, it is a game of three: three varietals, three personalities. In the Monastrell we find the strength of Lucía, in the Tintorera the kindness of Alfredo and in the Syrah the sweetness of Martina. These three varieties spend 18 months in French oak barrels, Monastrell in 500-liter barrels and Syrah and Tintorera in 225-liter barrels.
